Wedding Favors and Theme Planning

By: Jen Carter

When planning favors for a wedding, one of the first things to consider is the wedding theme. Having a set goal to follow, a plan to follow allows you to augment your wedding with important elements such as wedding favors and decorative keepsakes.

Since effective wedding planning relies heavily on the wedding theme, your favor selection should try to reflect your choice of theme, while conveying your own personal style. There are many types of weddings - formal wedding themes, destination weddings, and weddings based around a particular theme such as the seasons. Other popular wedding planning themes include themes based on sports, lifestyles, hobbies to name a few.

When selecting your wedding favors, you should match the favors with the wedding planning theme you have selected. The following are a few examples:

Formal Weddings - Beautiful white centerpieces are matched eloquently with white fortune cookie or calla lily placecard holders and matching white calla lily candle favors. Engraved key chains and wine wedding favors add a hint of class to this theme.

Sports Theme - There is a large amount of sports themed wedding favors available on the Internet, and some choices are Personalized Golf Tees, Golf Balls, Soccer keepsake boxes and more.

Event and Destination Themes - Based on the location you choose, there is a myriad of options for destination theme favor ideas. You can present beautiful gifts bags to be left in the hotel room for each guests as favors for the wedding weekend. These bags can be filled with anything to match your planning theme. Scented candle favors, favor boxes with edible gifts and engraved favors all work very well for destination themes. Use your creativity and imagination to make your wedding come to life, and thank your guests.
